Heena Sidhu is one of the most successful Indian pistol shooters who became world no.1 in 2014.

She became a practicing shooter in 2006 and in the same year, grabbed the bronze in 10m Air Pistol at the Asian Shooting Championship.

In 2009, she won her maiden ISSF World Cup medal. She announced herself at the international scene with one silver and one gold at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in New Delhi. She topped it up with a silver medal at the Asian Games in China.

She made her debut Olympics appearance at the 2012 London Olympics in the women’s 10m Air Pistol event and finished at the 12th position.

In 2013, she won the Gold medal in the ISSF World Cup Finals with a World record score in the final thus becoming the only Indian woman to hold a final world record in Shooting.

She won the silver medal at the 2014 World Cup in Fort Benning, USA. She also won the gold in the Asian Air Gun Championship. She achieved a career high ranking of World No 1 in 2014, thus becoming the first Indian female pistol shooter to achieve the feat. She was awarded the Arjuna Award in the same year.

Heena qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics in the women’s 10m air pistol and the women’s 25m pistol events.

Recently, she teamed with Jitu Rai to win the first gold medal of the ISSF World Cup final in India.

Eyes set on Tokyo 2020, Heena Sidhu is all set for the challenge and OGQ is proud to support her in the campaign.
