Smit is one of the most promising shooters in the Indian Skeet Team. He won the silver medal in the National Championships in Delhi in 2012. He was the National Junior Champion for three consecutive years from 2009-2011. He is also the current holder for National Record in India .

Smit won his first International medal at the Asian Clay shooting championship in Jaipur in 2008 when he won the Gold medal in Skeet (Juniors). He then went on to win Bronze medal (Individual) and Silver medal (team) at the SAF Games in Pakistan in 2008. His biggest win so far came at the International Junior Shotgun event in Finland where he won a bronze medal.

Smit’s burning desire in life is to be an Olympic Gold medalist and win great laurels for India. OGQ is confident that with the right kind of support he will be able to achieve his aim.
