Deepika Kumari wins Gold at Archery World Cup in USA

India's two-time Olympian Deepika Kumari won the Gold medal in the women's recurve event at the 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup held at Salt Lake City, USA. In the finals, Deepika out played Germany's Michelle Kroppen 7-3 to win the Gold medal. This is the second time that Deepika has won an individual gold medal in a World Cup event. The world number four archer had also won an individual gold medal at the Archery World Cup held at Antalya, Turkey in 2012

A delighted Deepika was 'relieved' to finally get back in form, after a heart breaking loss in the quarter finals of the women's recurve event at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Deepika has shown exemplary mental strength and perseverance to work hard post Rio and make a come back in USA.

With this win, Deepika has also qualified for the season ending prestigious 2018 Hyundai Archery World Cup finals to be held in Samsun, Turkey from 28th - 29th September 2018. Her next big competition is the upcoming Asian Games in Jakarta from 18th August to 2nd September 2018.

OGQ has been supporting Deepika since 2013 with a physiotherapist, sports nutritionist, sports psychologist and world class equipment. OGQ is very proud to support Deepika in her quest to win an Olympic gold medal.
