Shahzar Rizvi becomes World No.1 in Shooting 10m Air Pistol

In the latest World ranking released today by the ISSF, Shahzar Rizvi climbed the top spot to become the new World no. 1 in 10m Air Pistol.

Shahzar had a brilliant start to 2018 winning two ISSF World Cup medals. He shot a World Record of 242.3 to win the Gold medal in Mexico in March, which was also his debut World Cup appearance. Last week he won a Silver medal in ISSF World Cup in Korea, his second World Cup medal in 2018.

Shahzar said, "I am so happy to wake up as World no.1 today. It feels great. I am very motivated to work harder to win more medals for India. I thank my coach Ronak Pandit, NRAI, SAI, Indian Air Force and OGQ for helping me in my journey. My ultimate aim is to win a medal for India at Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games."
