About Olympic Gold Quest: Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) is a 'not for profit' organization started by sports legends Geet Sethi and Prakash Padukone with a mission to help Indian athletes win Olympic gold medals. In the last two Olympics, 5 out of the 8 Indian medal winners were athletes supported by OGQ viz. Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom, Gagan Narang, Vijay Kumar and P.V. Sindhu.

JOB SUMMARY: Olympic Gold Quest has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sports Authority of India for development of National Centre of Excellence (NCOE)- Cycling. National Centre of Excellence-Cycling is based at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex New Delhi where National Cycling teams Senior and Junior trains.

We are recruiting for the position of High-Performance Director-Cycling. High-Performance Director will lead the Indian Cycling High Performance program and play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of strategies to achieve sustainable success for Indian Cycling.

The High-Performance Director will be reporting to the Cycling Federation of India.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Lead and oversee short- and long-term strategies to ensure sustained success of Indian Cycling at Olympics. Develop appropriate strategies, wherever lacking.
● Plan and monitor the annual calendar for training and competition for Cycling, keeping in mind all major competitions and targets for the year.
● Create and manage a high-performance team of coaches and support staff, to work closely with athletes, to achieve tangible, realistic and specific goals.
● Manage and upgrade the talent identification and development programs across all age groups.
● Devise a plan to upskill domestic coaches; ensure these coaches get sufficient opportunity to learn and develop from the high-performance team.
● Develop and implement a soft skill curriculum for a more holistic development of athletes and coaches.
● Interact with all necessary stakeholders for achievement of desired activities and results.
● Prepare annual budgetary recommendations for the sport. Ensure the efficient management of activities within the specified budget.
● Oversee the implementation of athlete monitoring/management and relevant technology systems in Cycling.
● Serve as an advisory in the formation of sport specific developmental policies, including anti-doping.
● Fulfil other relevant roles and responsibilities as designated by competent authorities from time to time.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master’s degree or above in sport coaching/sport science/general management.
2. Extensive experience of working as Coach/ High Performance Director in and leading teams in Olympic and World Championship.
3. Experience as a player at international level.
4. Demonstrated effective leadership and decision-making skills.
5. Proficient in latest scientific methodology and techniques for sporting development.
6. Sound communication, relationship management and other soft skills.
7. Flexible working with/under different stakeholders and conditions.

REMUNERATION:

Remuneration will be fixed in commensurate with experience and Industry Standard.

JOB SUMMARY: Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) is a private not for profit organization founded with a mission to help Indian athletes win Olympic Gold medals. 14 out of 26 medal winners for India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics & Paralympics were supported by OGQ. We currently support the training of 230 athletes in 8 individual Olympic sports and 6 individual Paralympic sports. OGQ is looking to hire a highly motivated candidate who loves sports, training of coaches and is aiming at making a career in the sports industry to lead our Coaches Program Team. OGQ has its solitary office in Mumbai where all the operations are run out of. The Head – Coaches Program position will involve traveling on short notice, so a flexible candidate is sought.

About OGQ Coaches Program

Mission of OGQ Coaches Program is to develop world class Indian coaches who can produce Olympic champions in the long run. To achieve this goal OGQ Coaches Program is delivering three innovative training programs customized to the needs of high-performance Indian coaches in Badminton & Shooting:

Stage1: Coaches Foundation Program (CFP) which is a 3-month self-paced online program for coaches training emerging athletes.

Stage 2: Coaches Excellence Program (CEP) which is a one-year part time learning and training program for coaches to enable them to train high-performance athletes. The program consists of 450+ hours of intensive learning in a hybrid mode consisting of online sessions and residential workshops.

Stage 3: Coaches Leadership program (CLP) which will focus on building leadership skills of coaches and enabling them to train elite athletes.

JOB PURPOSE: To provide strategic leadership and direction to OGQ Coaches Program and manage the overall execution of different programs under the umbrella.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Long term planning for scaling up existing programs and launching new initiatives.
2. Annual planning, scheduling, and reviews of existing programs.
3. Maintaining relations with our knowledge partners and senior trainers.
4. Identifying foreign technical trainers and establishing relationship with them.
5. Planning development and design of new content and delivery strategies periodically.
6. Overseeing execution of existing programs – Timelines, schedule, budgeting, outcomes, workshop roll out and periodic reviews.
7. Maintaining relationship with priority alumni coaches.
8. Designing selection and application process for different programs.
9. Periodic research into best practices for coaches training programs.
10. Research into new sports for adding to the program.
11. Mentoring existing CP team members.
12. Undertaking any other activities as and when required by OGQ.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

The candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:

1. Total work experience of 10-15 years.
2. A combination of work experience in sports sector and developing and delivering training programs is preferred.
3. Deep interest in Sport and good knowledge of the Olympics and Indian athletes.
4. Graduate/Post-Graduate from a reputed institute in Sports management / Learning & Development or related fields.
5. Experience in end-to-end project management and managing teams.
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to take initiatives.
