She also had an opportunity to work in the field with Shooting, Archery & Boxing at the start of her career at OGQ and grown on the field as a Professional seeing the evolution of Sports Science in the country and to be a part of the whole process. Over the years she has worked with Badminton, Wrestling, and Para-Athletes as well.

Role in OGQ: Poornima is Head of Sports Sciences for the Senior Athletes Program and also oversees the functioning of the entire Sports Science team of OGQ. Her role and responsibilities are divided between Sports Science and Administrative work. Her job is to ensure the whole Sports Science program runs smoothly, with the focus for athletes to get the best possible solutions to their concerns with the best evidence-based Assessment, Diagnosis, and treatment plans.

Additionally, her foremost duty is that of a Sports Physiotherapist who works on the field to ensure the athlete is at their fittest, anticipate problems, and finding ways to prevent them by providing a comprehensive prehab program, assessments, load management, and manual therapy sessions and in case of injuries implement an injury management plan with a focus on optimizing their performance.

Experience in Sport Sector: Amey has experience of 11 years working as a Sports Scientist for the sports like Rugby, Football, Cricket, Wrestling, Badminton, Boxing, Archery, and Shooting. Post his masters' from United Kingdom, he had a unique opportunity to work with NHS as a respiratory physiologist in the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire. He had the opportunity to keep the Sports science updated by conducting and pursuing research in the field of sports science by publishing research articles in international as well as national physiology and pharmacology journals.

Role in OGQ: Amey is Head of Sports Sciences for the Junior Athletes Program and also oversees the functioning of the Junior Sports Science team of OGQ. He also heads the Sports Science vertical for OGQ’s Coaches Excellence Program (CEP). His role and responsibilities are divided between Sports Science, Athlete Monitoring, and Administrative work for junior athletes and CEP. He ensures the smooth functioning of the junior sports science program, with the focus for junior athletes to get the best possible solutions to their concerns with the best evidence-based Assessment, Diagnosis, and treatment, and Strength and Conditioning plans. Amey is also one of the trainers in CEP for sports science and delivers lectures to the CEP coaches of Badminton and Shooting.

Additionally, his foremost duty is that of a Sports Strength & Conditioning specialist who works on the field to ensure the athlete is at their fittest, anticipate problems, and finding ways to prevent them by providing them a detailed conditioning program, assessments, load management, to ensure optimal performance through attaining peak at the right time and avoid injuries.

Over the last 3 years, Aalaap has also been working on building, customizing, and troubleshooting the platform for the OGQ team to meet the demands specific to each sport, when it comes to documenting assessments, training-competition scores, notes, blood tests, injuries keeping track of daily markers for progress for athletes. The role also involves vast back-end work to keep the platform updated and functional ground staff and vice versa. Currently collaboratively working on analyzing, looking at trends of assessments, and creating meaningful case studies for us. With so much data coming in from the field, for the ultimate aim of performance enhancement, the Athlete Monitoring System and the analytics it offers, play an integral part in the athletes everyday training regime.
